GLP-1 COACHING FOR WOMEN

Using a GLP-1 can make fat loss easier, but the medication is only one part of the picture.

Nutrition, adequate protein, resistance training and the habits you build along the way all matter for protecting muscle, improving body composition and maintaining your results long term.

I coach women using GLP-1 medications with their nutrition and strength training, so the focus isn’t just on losing weight. It’s about losing body fat, building or maintaining muscle and learning how to maintain your results.

ARE YOU USING A GLP-1? YOU PROBABLY HAVE QUESTIONS.

  • What should I eat if I’m barely hungry?

  • How much protein do I actually need?

  • Am I eating too little?

  • Should I still strength train while losing fat?

  • How do I protect my muscle?

  • What happens when I reach my goal?

  • Will I regain the weight if I stop the medication?

GLP-1 medications can change your appetite dramatically, but they don’t automatically teach you how to eat, train or maintain your results.

THAT’S THE PART I HELP WITH.

WHAT GLP-1 MEDICATIONS ACTUALLY DO.

GLP-1 based medications work by mimicking hormones involved in appetite, fullness and blood glucose regulation. For many people, this means less hunger, fewer food cravings and feeling satisfied with less food.

LESS HUNGER

Reduced appetite can make it easier to eat less without constantly battling hunger.

FEEL FULLER

Changes in appetite signalling and slower stomach emptying can help you feel satisfied with less food.

LESS FOOD NOISE

Many people report fewer persistent thoughts about food and less drive to eat.

WHAT THE MEDICATION DOESN’T DO FOR YOU.

It can reduce hunger and make a calorie deficit easier to maintain. But it doesn’t automatically protect your muscle, make sure you’re eating enough protein, teach you how to strength train effectively or build the habits you’ll need long term.

YOUR NUTRITION, TRAINING & HABITS STILL MATTER.

WHY STRENGTH TRAINING MATTERS ON A GLP-1

Fat loss can include the loss of muscle as well as body fat. Resistance training, alongside adequate protein, helps preserve muscle while you lose fat.

The goal isn’t just to lose weight…

IT’S TO PROTECT YOUR MUSCLE TOO.

NUTRITION STILL MATTERS WHEN YOU’RE EATING LESS.

When your appetite drops, you may be eating considerably less food. That makes what you do eat even more important. Protein matters, but good nutrition on a GLP-1 is about more than protein alone.

PROTEIN

Protein helps support muscle retention and recovery, particularly when combined with resistance training during fat loss.

DIETARY FATS

Fat provides essential fatty acids and helps your body absorb the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. It still has an important place in your diet.

CARBOHYDRATES

Carbohydrates provide energy for everyday life and help fuel your training. You don’t need to cut carbs just because you’re using a GLP-1.

FIBRE, FRUIT & VEGES

Eating less food can mean fewer opportunities to get the fibre, vitamins and minerals you need. Nutrient dense foods still matter, even when your portions are smaller.

WHAT GLP-1 COACHING WITH ME LOOKS LIKE.

Your nutrition and training still need to work around you, your goals and how you’re responding to the medication. The GLP-1 is one part of it. Your nutrition, training and what you do long term still matter.

CALORIE & MACRO TARGETS

Your calories and macros are set around your goals, body size and activity. You choose and track your own foods, with targets adjusted as you progress through fat loss and eventually into maintenance.

PROGRESSIVE STRENGTH TRAINING

Your training is structured around progressive resistance training to help maintain and build muscle, improve strength and support your body composition goals.

ONGOING ADJUSTMENTS

Your calories, macros, biofeedback and training are reviewed as you progress and adjusted when needed rather than leaving you on the same targets or program regardless.

LEARNING FOR THE LONG TERM

You’ll learn how to manage your nutrition and training through fat loss and into maintenance, so you understand what to do beyond the dieting phase.

THE GLP-1 IS ONLY ONE PART OF THE PROCESS. THE COACHING BUILDS THE REST.

FAT LOSS IS A PHASE. MAINTENANCE IS THE LONG TERM GOAL.

Reaching your goal isn’t where the work ends. At some point, the focus needs to shift from losing fat to maintaining the results you’ve worked for.

FAT LOSS PHASE

1.

A calorie deficit is used for a period of time to reduce body fat. It isn't where you're meant to stay forever.

MAINTENANCE PHASE

2.

Once the fat loss phase is finished, calories are brought back towards maintenance so the focus shifts from losing fat to maintaining your results.

LONG TERM FOCUS

3.

The goal is to maintain your results while continuing to eat well, stay active and strength train rather than constantly moving from one diet to another.

THE GOAL ISN’T TO DIET FOREVER. IT’S TO LEARN HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR RESULTS.
